Program Schedule and Highlights
- Inauguration
The event began with a ceremonial dīpa prajvalanam (lighting of the lamp), symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the invocation of knowledge. This was followed by Vedic chanting by students, setting a spiritual and scholarly tone for the day. - Welcoming the Guests
- The special guest for the day, Dr. Hemanta Dutta, and the Principal of the institution were warmly welcomed by the department.
- Floral greetings and tokens of appreciation were presented to honor their presence.
- Welcome Address
- The Head of the Department, Prosenjit Mondal, formally welcomed all attendees and emphasized the importance of observing Sanskrit Day to honor the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of the Sanskrit language.
- Principal’s Address
- The Principal addressed the audience, appreciating the efforts of the department in organizing such a meaningful event and encouraging students to engage with the Sanskrit language.
- Students’ Performances
- Sanskrit Song: Students from the 1st semester performed a melodious Sanskrit song.
- Stotra Pāṭha: Students from the 2nd and 4th semesters recited traditional Sanskrit stotras, showcasing their devotion and mastery of the language.
- Special Lecture
- The highlight of the day was a thought-provoking lecture by Dr. Hemanta Dutta, who shared his insights on the contemporary relevance of Sanskrit and its impact on various fields of knowledge.
- Cultural Presentation
- A short Sanskrit act-play was performed by students, illustrating the richness of Sanskrit drama and literature. The play received high praise for its creativity and execution.
- Vote of Thanks
- Dr. Anup Ruidas, the event anchor, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guests, participants, and organizing team for their contributions to the event’s success.
- Conclusion
- The program concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra by all attendees, symbolizing peace and harmony.
